The dualism ‘Light and Darkness’ has formed part of human consciousness since the creation of the cosmos. In fact, it forms the very essence of our existence. We read and hear about dark matter, black holes and stars, galaxies etc. Our own bodies are made up of 98% nothing and the rest of it is something. The spectrum light has to offer has an irreversible influence on modern human existence. How are we to appreciate how the author of Ephesians and its readers understood the concepts of light and darkness? How are we to interpret it has ‘people of the light’? Some reflections and answers later on.
